About the Indiana Department of Veterans' Affairs

Since its establishment in 1945, the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs (IDVA) has remained focused on aiding and assisting “Hoosier” veterans, and qualified family members or survivors, who are eligible for benefits or advantages provided by Indiana and the U.S. government.

Indiana owes a great debt to its veterans, past and present, for their personal sacrifices and dedicated service. 75 Hoosiers (2 still living) have been awarded the Medal of Honor in testimony to their courage and sacrifices.

Today, Indiana is home to nearly 550,000 veterans. 52,000 veterans and survivors collect disability compensation or pension payments. There is no greater honor than to serve those who have given so much.

Ever Heard of Rolling Thunder?

Let’s begin by dispelling a myth… Rolling Thunder is not a motorcycle club.
RT Mission Statement- The major function of Rolling Thunder®, Inc. is to publicize the POW-MIA issue: to educate the public that many American Prisoners of War were left behind after all previous wars and to help correct the past and to protect the future veterans from being left behind should they become Prisoners of War/Missing in Action. We are also committed to helping American Veterans from all wars.
Note that there was no discussion about motorcycles or even being a military veteran for that matter. Rolling Thunder enthusiastically welcomes any person with a passion for veterans and for publicizing the POW/MIA issue. If this describes you, consider joining this worthy effort. Contact your Service Office or visit… http://www.rollingthunderin6.com/ for more information.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED !!!

Your Service Office is seeking volunteers who would be willing to drive veterans to VA medical appointments using a DAV-furnished vehicle. If you are in generally good health, have a clean driving record, and desire to serve our veterans who selflessly served us, please contact the Service Office for information. Your time, no matter how limited, would be of great value.
